Cable Beach
We have to start this list with the famous and super popular Cable Beach. Cable Beach is one of the most vibrant beaches in Nassau and in the world, and it is perfect for someone who wants to have an exciting vacation. There are five resorts on this beach, but it is public access, and you can get a day pass for one of the resorts to use the swimming pools, water slides, restaurants and changing facilities.
There are a lot of exhilarating water sports to take part in on Cable Beach. However, it is also known to be a little overcrowded, especially during spring break. Therefore, you should consider some of the other beaches on this list if that is a deal-breaker. If you want to relax on Cable Beach, your best bet is to get a day pass for one of the resorts, which will be a lot less crowded than the beachfront. Moreover, if you have the budget, you can check out the private Islands for Sale in the Bahamas.
There are many other food options on Cable Beach. From the several high-end restaurants to the beachfront bars and vendors, you will always be able to find something delicious to eat.
Love Beach
As the name suggests, this is a beach for romantic couples who want someplace less crowded and more passionate. Visiting this beach is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You need to do a nine-mile hike to get there, and the scenery from this beachfront is worth every step.
Technically, this is a locals-only beach, but the people are quite welcoming to foreigners as well as long as you make sure to respect their privacy. Therefore, don't play any loud music or plan a beach party at Love Beach.
Since Love Beach is very secluded, you won't find any options for food there, so remember to bring your own supplies. There isn't any place to change or a public bathroom either, so keep that in mind. This is a great spot to lie back, relax with your partner, and get a nice tan.
Saunders Beach
If you are traveling with your family and have kids, Saunders beach is the perfect spot for you. This beach won't be crowded, and it is one of the few public access beaches in the Bahamas with proper public bathrooms and changing areas.
The beachfront has a safe swimming zone for kids, and separate playing areas as well. This small beach was made specifically for families, and you won't find any raging parties and heavy crowds over here.
There is also a parking area nearby, which adds to the convenience of this beach. As far as food options go, you won't find much. There are only a few beachfront vendors. Therefore, you should pack a picnic and everything else you might need for an amazing time.
Jaws Beach
Jaws is a movie you don't want to think about when you are headed to the beach, but don't let the name scare you off. You aren't going to find any sharks near the shore of Jaws Beach. There isn't much on this island as far as water sports, restaurants and resorts are concerned, but it is famous for another reason.
This beach is the filming site for the last part of the popular film "Jaws." Still, this beach isn't too crowded, and the clear and shallow waters are great for a swim. Apart from being a great spot for film enthusiasts, this is also a nice place to take long and romantic walks with your partner or friends and get a nice tan.
If you are visiting Jaws Beach, make sure to take some snacks and water with you, because you are probably not going to find any restaurants or food vendors near Jaws Beach.
Junkanoo Beach
Junkanoo Beach is one of the closest spots to Downtown Nassau. The crowd here is average, except during spring break, when this beach gets as crowded as the Cable and Cabbage beaches. This is why Junkanoo Beach is also called "Spring Break Beach."
Junkanoo Beach definitely isn't the most beautiful of the beaches in Nassau, and neither are there many water activities to do here. However, since it is so close to the city, it is a favorite of many people, especially backpackers and college students who can't afford to stay at the beachfront resorts.
Junkanoo Beach also has proper public bathrooms, showers, and changing areas. As far as food options are concerned, you won't have as much variety and options as on Cable Beach, but some beachfront vendors sell cocktails and street food.
Cabbage Beach
Cabbage Beach is recognized as one of the best beaches, not just in Nassau but also in the whole world. Some of the most popular resorts in the Bahamas, including the Atlantis and Hotel Riu Palace, are on Cabbage Beach.
Cabbage Beach is a public access beach, but you can get a day pass for one of the resorts and enjoy swimming pools, restaurants, and spas.
This wide and fantastic beach is also one of the longest beaches in Nassau. It is an amazing two-mile stretch of calm waters and soft white sand, with just the right amount of palm trees. There are many water sports and activities to do on the beach, and you can easily get different food options as well.
Though the beach is a bit overcrowded, you can stay on its east side, where you will find many secluded and low-traffic spots to relax and work on your tan.
If you're a beach lover, you can't go wrong with a stay in Nassau, in the Caribbean islands of the Bahamas, to satisfy your beach craving. The beaches in Nassau all offer something different, and I bet they will wow even the most blasé of beach-goers!
